I love pastries and coffee and my go-to place when I’m craving for these two in Bohol is Estrella Bakery. This café is one of my favorite pastry shops in Tagbilaran City. If you’re in Bohol, you’re missing half of your life if you have not tried out the goodies at Estrella Bakery. Here are more reasons to fall in love with this shop!
New goodies to die for
Estrella Bakery has recently upgraded their menu. During the Seas the Day Bohol tour, my blogging companions and I were given the privilege to try out their newest offerings like the pain au chocolat (an instant hit!), scones, croissants, raspberry muffins and blueberry. Everything was delicious! I'm craving for some pain au chocolat and muffins right now!
Estrella Bakery is co-owned and run by Ella Labunog, a chef trained in New York and Paris. Her love for cooking and good food manifests in the careful preparation and presentation of each product in the shop. From the bread to the cakes, from the coffee to the hot chocolate, everything in Estrella Bakery is a labor of love.
The coffee alone should convince you to visit! Estrella is the only coffee shop in Tagbilaran City that serves the world-famous Illy coffee. Illy is an Italian company that is known around the world for its premium coffee and its state-of-the-art preparation process.
In an age of Instagram and foodporn obsession, a shop’s interior design and lighting can be just as important as the food they serve. That said I’m very happy to tell you that Estrella Bakery is one of the most instagrammable shops in Tagbilaran City! The bakery interior is very sleek and cozy and the huge shop windows allow for very good natural light, perfect for taking pictures and sharing about your experience (make sure to use the shop’s official hashtag #OnlyAtEstrella when taking food photos)!
